The NWI Times details correspondence between East Chicago mayor Anthony Copeland and the EPA from this summer. The mayor posted the following on this Facebook profile:

  1. A 16 June letter from Mayor Copeland to EPA Region 5 Acting Director Robert Kaplan
  2. A 29 June letter from EPA region 5 Acting Director Robert Kaplan to Mayor Copeland
  3. A 14 July letter from Mayor Copeland to EPA National Administrator Gina McCarthy
  4. A 1 August letter from EPA region 5 Acting Director Robert Kaplan to Mayor Copeland
